Opportunities for development of academic writing and scholarly work are plentiful in CMEF. Having the two large health systems in northeast Ohio as our primary training sites, our residents encounter complex and rare disease presentations every day.
Our residents are strongly encouraged to actively participate in both regional and national conferences every year to present their scholarly work.

CMEF Doctor’s Dilemma Team
As physicians, we are naturally competitive. In CMEF, we promote professional development and eagerness to learn medicine in a collegial way. In recent years, a lot of our team-based activities were halted during the pandemic. However, we are re-initiating our medical jeopardy teams.
Once again, we plan to participate in American College of Physician Doctor’s Dilemma Competition. Under the guidance of faculty and leadership of our chief residents and senior residents, we have our residents team-up and practice on quizzes for medical jeopardy games.
Our internal jeopardy competitions are one of the favorite educational activities of CMEF residents. They are exciting, challenging and help building teamwork.
Our internal victorious Doctor’s Dilemma Team earns the opportunity to represent CMEF at the annual ACP Ohio Doctor’s Dilemma Competition.
