Jennifer Bolyard, MD, FACP
Program Director Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine, NEOMED Dr. Bolyard graduated from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 1994 and completed her Internal Medicine Residency in Canton. She is a 2010 graduate of NEOMED's Fellowship in Academic Medicine. She served as Assistant Program Director for CMEF from 2001-2007 and served as Aultman's Transitional Year Residency Director in Canton from 2004 to 2014. In 2013, she returned to CMEF as Program Director, and enjoys curriculum development, practicing preventive medicine, women's health, and mentoring residents and students in their career development. Her clinical practice is primarily in the outpatient setting with the residents and she leads several Quality Improvement projects, including our CMEF mini-MIPS (Merit-Based Incentive Payment System) program-wide initiative. |
Rama Narayanan, MD, FACP Associate Program Director/ Ambulatory Sites Director Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, NEOMED Dr. Rama Narayanan is a graduate of Chennai Medical College of India where she practiced as an Internist and certified Pathologist. She graduated from CMEF Internal Medicine Residency program as a Co-Chief Resident in 2009 and became a member of the Core Faculty. She completed the Fellowship in Academic Medicine at NEOMED. She served as our Internal Medicine Clerkship Director from 2011-2015, and continues to play a significant role in mentoring our students. She enjoys her role as Clinical Director of Outpatient Resident Continuity Practices at both My Community Health Center (MCHC) and Mercy Ambulatory Care Center (ACC). She leads several ongoing program-wide Quality Improvement projects, including a Health Mapping initiative and Social Determinants of Health study. |
Asha K. Chakka, MD, FACP
Assistant Program Director Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, NEOMED Dr. Chakka is a graduate of Osmania Medical College, India. She graduated from Interfaith Medical Center in New York in Internal Medicine program. She also completed a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Indiana University before joining CMEF as a core faculty. She attended Stanford Faculty development course and also worked on a project related to resident curriculum. Dr. Chakka is a 2016 graduate of NEOMED's 1-year Fellowship in Academic Medicine (FAME). She is interested in teaching medical students and residents, and is the Director for our curriculum to support resident preparation for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) exam. She also directs our longitudinal curriculum for geriatrics and medical knowledge growth. |
Kevin Frey, MD, FACP
Assistant Program Director/ M3 Clerkship Director, NEOMED Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, NEOMED Dr. Frey joined the CMEF faculty as Assistant Program Director in May 2015. A 2009 graduate of NEOMED, he completed residency training at The Mayo Clinic, Minnesota in 2012. He has a special interest utilizing and teaching ultrasound for bedside diagnostics and procedures. He has an aptitude for all things 'technological.' He is our Educational Site Director for Internal Medicine Student Clerkships & Rotations. He is a 2016 graduate of NEOMED's Fellowship in Academic Medicine (FAME). Dr. Frey developed, directs, and supervises our outpatient procedure clinics at both sites. |
Lewis A. Humble, MD
Assistant Program Director Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, NEOMED Dr. Humble is a 1994 graduate of Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He completed his CMEF Internal Medicine Residency in Canton, Ohio in 1997. From 1997 to current, he has Practiced medicine in this community. He has held leadership positions in area hospitals within Stark County. He has held private group practice positions as well as being President of a Multi-Specialty Group Practice that blended Cardiology and Internal Medicine physician services. The last eight years prior to joining the CMEF Faculty, has been spent as a Hospitalist at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. He has been a Fellow of the Physician Leadership Academy since 2014 and still maintains leadership roles as an IHC Board Member (Integrated Health Collaborative) and Credentials Subcommittee Member. Dr. Humble is also the Chairman of the Aultman Hospital Medical Records Committee and Research IRB. As Assistant Program Director, Dr. Humble has a specific interest in process improvement as well as patient and physician satisfaction. Dr. Humble completed NEOMED's Fellowship in Academic Medicine in fall of 2020. |
Michael H. Linz, MD
Assistant Program Director Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, NEOMED The newest member of our faculty, Dr. Linz brings 36 years of clinical knowledge and experience, resident teaching, practice management, and medical staff leadership to the CMEF family. He is a 1984 graduate of the Northeast Ohio Medical University, and completed his residency in internal medicine with CMEF in 1987, where he was Chief Resident. After 25 years in private practice, Dr. Linz transitioned to hospital medicine at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in 2011, where he served as Medical Staff Liaison for inpatient medicine. In 2016, he became Chief Hospitalist and Medical Director for inpatient medicine until joining CMEF in July, 2023. Dr. Linz has served on every major committee at CCMH, is past President of the Medical Staff, and past Chairman of the CMEF Board of Directors. He was inducted into the Society of St. Luke at CCMH in 2012, CMEF Attending of the Year in 2015 and 2024. He is a recipient of the Dr. John Botti Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Linz’s areas of focus in clinical medicine includes bedside physical examination and communication skills, documentation and coding, perioperative medicine, palliative care, and medical history. |
Meena Rajan, MD Ambulatory Office Preceptor Educational Site Director, Mercy Ambulatory Clinic Dr. Rajan has educated residents at the Mercy Resident Continuity Practice since graduating from our CMEF residency program in 2008. She serves as the Cleveland Clinic Mercy RCP Educational Site Director. She has a special interest in outpatient practice and preventive medicine. |
Gilbert Rowley, MD, FACP
Academic Hospitalist/ Director Aultman Inpatient Medicine Curriculum Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, NEOMED Dr. Rowley is a 1986 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Akron City Hospital/Summa Health Systems in 1989. Subsequently, he served as Chief Medicine Resident at Akron City until 1990. He has practiced in the Stark County area since then. He is board certified in internal medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In 2002, he was commissioned as a medical officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and thereafter served several times on active duty. Dr. Rowley serves on the clinical faculty of both Ohio State and NEOMED and joined Aultman Inpatient Medicine (AIM) as our primary academic hospitalist in November 2013. |
