Welcome to the home of Canton Medical Education Foundation's Internal Medicine Residency Program! Through our training sites at Aultman Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, and our extensive network of sub-specialty offices, we have tremendous resources to prepare trainees for practice as traditional general internists, hospitalists, or sub-specialty fellows.
Our 3-year fully accredited program offers 12 positions per year. Interested candidates can apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and must participate in the National Resident Match Program (NRMP).
We offer an academic atmosphere through community-based teaching experiences. Personal development and professional growth are a priority, along with commitment to clinical excellence and lifelong learning. Our fulltime faculty-to-resident ratio is conducive to an individualized approach to education and mentoring. We support the ongoing scholarly work of our trainees, with opportunities for developing new clinical research for publication, quality improvement projects, and clinical vignettes for poster presentation.
Teaching medical students in their clerkship and clinical rotations is part of our culture. We sponsor continuous clerkship opportunities for our affiliate, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), as well as plentiful electives and sub-intern rotations for students from NEOMED and elsewhere. Our faculty and residents play a major role in their clinical skill development and professional growth.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We wish you the best success in your future Internal Medicine career.
